Makos,

Our end of season invitational swim meets for this season are quickly approaching. The Red, White & Blue Invitational, RWB, will be held on Friday June 24 - Sunday June 26 AND Ponderosa will be held Saturday June 25 - Sunday June 26. These are exciting meets that allow swimmers to compete one final time this season, showcasing all of their hard work! Our last regular season meet, Divisionals, Saturday June 18th will be the last opportunity for swimmers to make qualifying times for RWB and Ponderosa.

***Please note that payment for Red, White & Blue and Ponderosa is due at time of entry. Swimmers WILL NOT be entered into the meet if payment has not been received by the deadline, Saturday June 18th at 4:00pm.***

If you are new to Makos, you may be asking:

• “What is an end of season invitational meet?”
  • These are meets that require a qualifying time from our dual meets, mid-season invitational (Sprint Sizzler/Pentathlon), or divisional meet in order to participate. Your swimmer may enter ALL individual events for which they qualify, but they don’t have to.
• “How do I know if my swimmer is qualified?”
  • The RWB and PI qualifying times have been included in meet results throughout the season!
  • To check if your swimmer is qualified go to https://cymillmakosharks.swimtopia.com/ and log in to your account. At the top right, click on the red tab that says welcome and select my account. You can then select your swimmer. At the bottom of the page, you will see the swimmer’s best times listed for each stroke. The times displayed are yard qualifying times. Attached to this email are Qualifying times and meet announcements for Red, White & Blue AND Ponderosa.
  • Alternatively, go to the Meets section of the Mako website and scroll to Red, White & Blue Invitational or Ponderosa Invitational. Click the green Meet Entry tab. Click the black Edit button and then declare your swimmer as attending the meet. If your swimmer qualifies for any event, it will allow you to check a box. If they don’t qualify, it will say they are not eligible.

** If you know already that you and your swimmer(s) will NOT be participating in Red, White & Blue and/or Ponderosa, PLEASE go ahead and RSVP that you will NOT be attending. This will help tremendously. **

Red, White & Blue

** To enter the meet, swimmers must meet at least the Red qualifying time swam at a Dual or Invitational meet (time trial times are not allowed); however, they cannot meet or exceed the Cut-Off time, which is the Ponderosa qualifying time. **

Bonus events at RWB: swimmers qualifying in 3 or more events may swim all additional events provided they have a legal time at a dual meet. Time Trial Times and No Times are not allowed. Please let Coach Emi (via remind) or Destiny Legare (respond to this email) know if you want to be entered in a bonus event.

Dates:

• Friday June 24: 11&Up 100 Free and 13&Up 100 IM
• Saturday June 25: 10 & under
• Sunday June 26: 11 & up

Cost: $7.00 per individual event/the Makos will cover the cost of relays. Payments can be made with cash, check (payable to CMMS), or Venmo @Makosharks. If using Venmo please include family last name, swimmer(s) name, and the event(s) your swimmer(s) will be participating in.

Ponderosa

Dates:

• Saturday June 25 : Free (25, 50, 100), Back, Free Relay
• Sunday 26: Breast, Fly, IM, Medley Relay

Cost: $10.00 per individual event/the Makos will cover the cost of relays. Payments can be made with cash, check (payable to CMMS), or Venmo @Makosharks. If using Venmo please include family last name, swimmer(s) name, and the event(s) your swimmer(s) will be participating in.
