Good Evening Makos!

We are thrilled to announce there WILL BE a 2021 Makos Summer Swim Season! As with everything relating to Covid 19, this season will be different than seasons in the past. NWAL has provided recommendations for the teams to return to swim. (You can view these recommendations at www.nwal.org.) One of the biggest changes is the meets. When swimming against another team the meet will be divided into two Saturdays. One Saturday will be for the 10 and under swimmers, the other Saturday will be for the 11 and up swimmers. This is to reduce the amount of people gathering at one location at the same time.

OUR ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! We're pleased to offer paying the registration fees via Venmo, as well as check and cash. A postdated volunteer check is still required regardless of how the registration fees are paid. Here are some important dates and information:

• March 28: In person registration at Makos rec center 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• We will be not changing our suit style this season. If you need a new suit just contact D&J Sports and they know the style to order for your Mako swimmer.
• Coaches are working on the practice schedule and will be posted once complete. It will be similar to years past, after school practices until summertime, then switching to a morning practice schedule. Each age group will have a specified time slot.
• Remember the Makos are an open team so you’d don’t have to live in Cypress Mill to join, invite your friends!
• We have great coaches this year! Check out their bios on the Makos website for more details!
• Team meeting, April 11 via Zoom (time to be determined).

We are excited that a season is really happening!!! Looking forward to seeing everyone for Makos 2021!!
